Portrait of a woman in a white blouse seated indoors beside a potted tropical plant and bookshelf

Kristen Jonas is self-disciplined, straightforward, and a self-proclaimed productivity addict. Her Grandma Florence taught her that "if you rest, you rust", a mantra she carried straight into her corporate career.  With a multi-decade career in Human Resources, she thrives in organized, on time and planned environments.   However, she soon realized after her first baby, parenting is nothing like that.

Her writing explores what happens when a structured individual is also a parent / stepparent of five kids, now adults.  Her stories offer a refreshing, unfiltered look at motherhood. She trades the traditional "Super Mom" facade for honest, and at times humorous, candor about the beautiful surrender of raising a family when nothing goes according to plan.   With honesty and relatability, she gives us the full reel, not just the highlights.

Kristen Jonas has worked with human nature during a distinguished career in the corporate workspaces. However, she realized the ultimate challenge of navigating human behavior isn't at the office; it is at home as a mother! As a lifelong parent learner of 5 adult kids—a son, a daughter, and 3 stepsons,  she writes authentically about her lived parenting experience, from birth to an empty nest (with her husband, Mark).
